Sustainability Summit ‘09: ”Technology & Productivity for the Low Carbon Economy”

Tuesday, July 14 – Wednesday, July 15 at Santa Clara Convention Center, Santa Clara CA

Sustainability Summit ‘09 will bring together global corporate visionaries, policy makers, environmental advocacy groups, and leading experts, to discuss financially viable practices and strategies that address and mitigate corporate impact on long-term health of the earth. Sustainability Summit ‘09 will NOT be a theoretical conference, but instead will present concrete ideas, strategies and case studies to help business leaders create a more sustainable corporate infrastructure for themselves and their clients. The event includes an exhibition where participating companies can promote programs, products, and technologies related to sustainable business solutions, including telepresence and sustainable collaboration technologies. Sustainability Summit ‘09 is itself a Telepresence-enabled event, so speakers and attendees will be able to participate live, or from remote locations, through the use of on-stage, cross-platform telepresence and legacy video-conferencing systems. For an idea how the onstage telepresence would work, see the schematic at this link: http://sustainabilitysummit2009.com/onstage.php. For more event info, email info@sustainabilityevents.com.

Avoid Scattershot Change: Plan Communication

A Net Impact Issues-in-Depth Call

Friday, July 17, 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. EDT

No change initiative can occur successfully without proper organizational communication.  When communicating for change, messages are conveyed to audiences with the purposes of keeping people informed and mobilizing the organization.  Communication is the means to gain attention, educate, and get individuals and groups to take action to move the change initiative forward.

As an internal change advocate for your organization, communication is one of the main tools you use to reach your goal and desired outcome.  Yet, we frequently see people who are responsible for implementing change who use communication in a haphazard fashion, without a solid plan.  The resulting hodgepodge of newsletters, posters and meetings tells a less-than-compelling story of change.

Monica Nakielski (Principal and Co-founder, Harmeda Monica LLC) and Heather Stagl (Founder, Enclaria LLC), authors of the workbook entitled Pinpoint Communication:  Plan to Avoid Scattershot Change, look forward to sharing their five-step process to help you develop a comprehensive communication plan for your sustainability initiative.
